Smt. B. L. Chandak Research Foundation


Founded in 1988 as Smt. B. L. Chandak Research Foundation (Charitable Trust Reg. No. E-219) to provide Ophthalmology services to the rural and underprivileged people in Akola, a small town in Maharashtra. The trust under its name of “Akola Eye Hospital” has undertaken several eye check-up camps in nearby districts of Akola over the last 30 years and have grown from being a OPD clinic to an established specialised Ophthalmology Center with specialised doctors who undertake general eye surgeries to cataract surgeries . 


In 2015, The trust opened its first Renal care centre as “Akola Dialysis Centre” for poor and BPL (Below poverty line) patients under the MJPJAY (Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojna) scheme of the government to provide free and dialysis and affordable kidney check-up camps. This was one of its kind centres in the district providing most sophisticated and advanced renal and dialysis services at minimum cost to the patient and continues to be the most preferred centre in dialysis by the BPL patient
